Work

Hi Leute! (Pls scroll down for english)
Diese Woche hat also endlich mein Praktikum angefangen und ich muss sagen, ich bin ein bisschen geschafft^^ Der Montag war ein Feiertag hier in Japan und ich habe  mit meiner Gastmutter Noriko einen Tempel in der Nähe besucht.
Am Dienstag gab es von meiner Arbeit aus eine Willkommens/Abschiedsparty. Willkommensparty für Samantha (eine Amerikanerin aus, die ich auch von Asahi Nihongo kenne und auch ein Praktikum machen wird) und mich und Abschiedsparty für Daniel, den ich auf der Arbeit ersetzen werde. Wir gingen in ein kleines All-you-can-eat restaurant in der Nähe vom Hakata eki. Da ich nach dem Vorstellungsgespräch von meiner zukünftigen Vorgesetzten Kana zu dieser Party eingeladen wurde, hatte ich irgendwie angenommen, dass die Arbeit das auch bezahlen würde...Samantha hatte das auch geglaubt und so waren wir beide ziemlich überrascht als Kana uns fragt ob es okay wäre wenn wir jetzt die 3500yen bezahlen würden...3500 yen....-.- Der Euro ist gerade ziemlich schwach (verdammtes Griechenland...-.-) und so sind 3500yen zurzeit etwa 35euro und das fand ich echt happig, nur leider konnte ich ja in dem Moment schlecht nein sagen... Hätte ich das vorher gewusst, wär ich nicht hingegangen...Naja, da ich schon so viel Geld bezahlen musste, habe ich dann so viel wie es nur ging in mich reingestopft :D Es war auch ziemlich lecker, nur hatte ich das viele Geld immer im Hinterkopf... Anfangs gab es einen Teller mit Sashimi. Ich liebe Sushi, aber ich hatte bisher größtenteils nur Maki Sushi gegessen und die Finger von rohem Fisch gelassen, aber es war echt lecker ♥ Besonders die Garnelen :o Dann gab es noch Spaghetti (die schmecken in Japan aber nicht wirklich...) und naja vom restlichen Essen kenn ich die Namen leider nicht, aber es war alles wirklich sehr lecker. Ich bin zwar kein große Fan von Alkohol, aber die Getränkekarte bot kaum etwas anderes an, also habe ich zwei Screwdriver und zum Schluß noch japanischen Sake getrunken. Der Sake war  mir aber doch etwas zu stark^^
Die Kollegen sind sehr nett, nur leider sehr viel älter als ich ^^ Sie meinten ich sähe aus wie irgendeine berühmte japanische Pianisten, nur leider weiß ich nicht wer das sein soll xD Es war ein lustiger Abend, aber da wir alle ja am nächsten Tag arbeiten mussten, sind wir doch relativ früh, so kurz vor 9, wieder nach Hause.

Am Mittwoch hatte ich also meinen ersten Arbeitstag. NPO Groundwork hat ein kleines Büro in der Nähe vom Hakata Eki. Im Grunde stehen da nur ein paar Tische mit Laptops rum, nichts besonderes also. Ich bekam noch nicht viele Aufgaben am ersten Tag. Mittwoch wurde ich dann mit der Aufgbabe betraut eine Power Point Präsentation über eine Umweltorganisation aus Wales vom Englischen ins Japanische zu übersetzen. Das war wirklich nicht besonders leicht -.- Es waren einfach so viele Wörter dabei, die ich noch lange nicht in meinem japanischen Wortrschatz griffbereit habe... Also musste ich mich die ganze Zeit auf irgendwelche Internetwörterbücher verlassen....Worte wie Land rekultivierung (Land rejuvenisation) konnte ich nur leider überhaupt nicht finden. Normalerweise arbeite ich vin 10-15 Uhr nur leider habe ich das in der Zeit nicht geschafft und habe eben eine Stunde Arbeitszeit drangehängt um fertig zu werden und als ich meiner Chefin den USB mit der übersetzten Präsentation reichte, sagte diese: "Das ging aber schnell, ich dachte damit wirst du erst morgen fertig"....=_=
Trotz der Schwierigkeiten hat mir diese Arbeit aber wirklich Spaß gemacht und ich denke es ist eine ganz gute Übung für mich. Freitag war dann leider etwas eintöniger. Ich musste mich eigentlich nur um die Post kümmern. Na gut, mal schauen wie die zweite Woche meines Praktikums wird.
Was aber am anstrengdsten am Praktikum ist, ist der Weg dorthin :p Da öffnetliche Verkehrsmittel in Japan ziemlich teuer sind, habe ich mich dazu entschieden auf Busfahren zu verzichten. Den Zug muss ich trotz allem nehmen, da meine Arbeit weit weg von zuhaus ist. Insgesammt laufe ich jetzt eineinhalb Stunden am Tag durch die Gegend, naja vielleicht ist das ganz gut um ein paar Kalorien zu verbrennen, die ich mit dem vielen Essen das meine Gastmutter für mich kocht ja reichlich aufnehme...Nur leider habe ich überhaupt keinen Orientierungssinn und so habe ich mich in Japan bereits einige Male verlaufen... Am Mittwoch bin ich etwa eine Stunde im Kreis gelaufen, bis ich endlich von der Arbeit aus den Bahnhof gefunden habe...^^`Naja, auf diese Weise sehe ich ein bisschen mehr von Japan, nur leider habe ich seit einer Woche jden Tag neue Blasen an den Füßen -.-
Ok mehr fällt mir momentan nicht ein, meinen nächsten Porst über das Wochenende werde ich aber bald schreiben  :p

My internship started this week and I´m a little worn out..^^ Tuesday we had a welcome party/farewell party. Welcome party for me and Samantha (an american girl I met at Asahi Nihongo School) and farewell party for Daniel, whom I will replace. We went to a small all-you-can-eat restaurant not far from Hakata station. Well, when they invited us to the party they didn´t say anything about money so I thought that work would pay for it...Samantha thought the same thing and so were really surprised when Kana (my new supervisor) asked us if it were ok if we could give her the 3500yen now................Well, we coulnd´t say no at that moment, could we? The euro is so weak right now (damn you greece!!!) that 3500yen are about 35 euro...;__; If I had known, I wouldn´t have gone to the party but since I was already there I decided to eat as much as I could! We had plenty of different foods, first was Sashimi! I love Sushi but I´ve mostly only eaten Maki Sushi, so I was a bit scared of the actual raw fish thing, but it was delicious,especially the ebi thing ♥ Mhm, we also had some Spaghetti (doesn´t taste that good in Japan XD) and I have no clue what those other foods were, but everything tasted so well! I´m not a big fan of alcohol but mostly all they had there was alcohol... So I drank two screwdrivers and I guess the last one was some sake, I was forced to drink that ^^ Too strong for my taste, but I guess it was okay. The people from work are nice, but most of them are way older than I am. They said I look like some japanese pianist... I have no idea who that could be though xD It was a funny and entertaining evening(except for my money!!!!)but we went home early, I think it was 9PM. Well, we had work the next day.
I´ve decided to not ride the bus anymore. Public transportation is so expensive here... I have to take the train though, since I live pretty far away from my work. If I would still take the bus, I would have to pay around 6 euro per day, and that would make me poor in a few days... It takes around 25 minutes to reach the train station and then another 20 minutes to get to work, so a bit more than one hour for the whole day, that´s acceptable and a little exercise is always good, especially when you have a hostmom who serves you food that could be meant for 3 people... The only bad thing about having to walk is that I have absolutely no sense of orientation ^^ I got lost a couple of times here in Japan...On my first day of work I didn´t realize before half an hour that I took the wrong direction...So it took me an hour to reach the train station...
But work is quite fun. I didn´t have much to do on the first day. One of my tasks will be writing the blog, so my first task at work was to introduce myself on both blogs. That´s the english one: http://groundworkfukuoka.wordpress.com/ and the japanese one:http://groundwork-fukuoka.blogspot.com/
On wednesday real work started and it wasn´t that easy. I was ordered to translate a power point presentation of an enviromental organization from Wales from english to japanese. I don´t have enviromental terms in my word pool so I was forced to use a dictionary all the time... There were a few words I couldn´t translate at all. For example: I just couldn´t find the japanese term for "land rejuvenation".... It took me quite some time to complete the task. I usually work from 10AM-3PM but I stayed until 4PM to finish my task and when I handed it in my boss said: "That was fast. I expected you to be done with it tomorrow"....-.- Well, you could have said that!!!! It was a hard task, but it was fun and I guess it´s good practice for me.
On friday work wasn´t really that interesting I was just told to sort the mail etc...
I´m looking foreward to my second week of work!
I will probably post tomorrow abou my weekend, so make sure to look again :)
